This year’s National Investor Town Hall Meeting, hosted by the Alliance for Investor Education and The PIABA Foundation, will feature a panel with firm founder Richard Frankowski. The event is free and open to the public, and will take place on October 29, 2016 at the Rancho Bernado Inn in San Diego, California. This is an all-day event featuring some of the most well-known and well-respected professionals in the securities industry. This year, Mr. Frankowski will present on a panel with other investor educators and attorneys from around the country.

The mission of the National Investor Town Hall Meeting is to “help attendees learn to set their goals, assess their risk tolerance, select advisers and investments, and avoid becoming a victim of financial fraud, which costs Americans an estimated $50 billion a year.” This year’s panels cover a variety of topics, all of which are designed to educate attendees about investing:

- The Basics of Investing for a Long, Happy Retirement. The first panel presentation of the day will look at the process of investing, and which strategies may work best for people at all stages and in all walks of life.
- Managing the Risks that Can Come with Investing. While all investments offer some element of risk, some behaviors are blatantly harmful. This presentation can help investors recognize warning signs for potentially risky or fraudulent behavior.
- Getting Help– Checking Out Investments and Financial Professionals. Part of smart investing is choosing the right advisor or brokerage for your needs. Panel speakers will offer strategies and tips for choosing the right firm for you.
- Investment Fraud and What to Do If You Are a Victim. Not all losses are due to market fluctuations. In the final presentation of the day, attendees can hear Mr. Frankowski and the rest of the panel discuss investment fraud, and find out what options they have for recovery of they have been victims of schemes or negligence.
